Registration for the free Estonian language courses will start on October 4th

On October 4th at 10 a.m., registration for the free Estonian language courses will start on the website of the Integration Foundation. A total of 41 courses can be registered for, where 510 adults interested in Estonian language are welcome. Registration is open to adults from the age of 18 using their ID card, Mobile ID or Smart ID.

The Integration Foundation provides free Estonian language of communication courses at A1, A2, B1, B2 and C1 levels. They will be taking place both face to face (26 courses in Tallinn, Narva, Jõhvi, Kohtla-Järve, Ahtme, Tartu, Pärnu and Sillamäe) and online (15 courses).

Courses start in October and run according to the schedule till December, March or May, with each course lasting for 120 academic hours.

Course timetables, registration rules and placement test are available HERE.

In organising language courses, the Integration Foundation is guided by the current requirements put in place to stop the spread of coronavirus.

“Anyone registering for face-to-face courses must present a COVID certificate when coming to classes,” explained Head of Language Studies Jana Tondi. “Depending on what the situation with the virus is like, we might also have to switch to online classes, so learners will need to be able to use a computer that’s connected to the Internet and that has a microphone and camera.”

This autumn, 1,420 people who registered in August have already started studying Estonian. In addition, nearly 440 people have started language training at the Estonian Language Houses in Tallinn and Narva, who completed the Integration Foundation's language training counselling in 2021 or continue their language training after successfully completed the previous course.

In addition to the courses, The Integration Foundation offers other language-learning opportunities: courses at the B1 level for citizens of third countries, language training at the A1, A2 and B1 levels to apply for Estonian citizenship, Estonian language cafés, cultural studies, ‘Language Roulette’ series of virtual conversations, events run by the Estonian Language Houses in Tallinn and Narva allowing you to practise the language.

Our advisers can help you choose the best form of study and practice, recommending a course or activity offered by the Integration Foundation or one of its partners. Additional information on the possibilities of learning and practicing the Estonian language, as well as counselling, is available by calling the free-of-charge information line 800 9999 or by e-mail info@integratsiooniinfo.ee.
