The year 2024 is dedicated to openness, mutual understanding, and closer cooperation among Estonia's different communities. This includes people with special needs, different dialect communities (Seto, Mulks, Kihnu, etc.), as well as the 216 different nationalities living in Estonia.
Estonia's cultural richness lies in its people and what its people have been able to achieve through dedication and creativity to make their lives more beautiful and meaningful. We're surrounded by cultural diversity on a daily basis and it has become so commonplace that we don't even notice it. When we hear the expression, we often think of something very different and very distinct, but we can actually find cultural richness in everyday things.
In the context of the Year of Cultural Richness, we asked different people what they consider to be the character of Estonia and Estonians, what they find to be unusual, and what cultural richness they add to Estonia. We had some exciting conversations, which you can read and watch here.
The social campaign "We are all the face of Estonia" has been carried out on behalf of the Estonian Ministry of Culture. The campaign is co-financed by the European Union.
