June’s Estonian culture workshop will be taking place at Lahemaa Heritage House and on long-established Iisaka Farm.
We’ll learn about the history of the farm, Estonian folk handicrafts and the wedding traditions and national costumes worn in Kuusalu.
We’ll try our hand at braiding and raise our voices in song! There will also be a refreshment break.
Showcasing Estonian culture for us will be the head of Lahemaa Heritage House, Liis Burk MA, who is a handicrafts expert and the director of development for the Estonian Folk Art and Craft Union. In addition to handicrafts, she works tirelessly to promote and arrange Estonian folk weddings.

The excursion and language practice are free of charge for participants. All activities are designed for adult learners and are conducted in Estonian. The farm produces beautiful handicrafts for purchase made from wool from its own sheep.
All events of the Estonian language house are intended for adults and take place in Estonian!
