Over the course of the event series, we are going to meet fascinating Estonian writers and listen to them talk about their lives and creation.
Doris Kareva is the most famous female poet in Estonia who follows in the footsteps of Anna Haava and Marie Under. Kareva’s poetry has been translated into Russian, Latvian, German, Swedish, English, Finnish, and other languages.
Doris Kareva has translated poetry, essays, and plays (by Anna Akhmatova, Samuel Beckett, Joseph Brodsky, William Shakespeare, and many more), compiled anthologies, written essays and articles, forewords and introductions for books and exhibitions, texts for theatrical and musical works as well as given lectures on education, culture, and ethics.
During the evening, we will learn more about her life and creation.
